- Costumes Collection: Return all Valley Christian owned or borrowed costumes & accessories to any Valley Christian school office. Please have the costumes clean and in a bag labeled with your name.
- 4-6 Jailhouse Rock: Black and white shirts, ribbons, & black skirts
- Middle School: Any borrowed knickers, vests, shirts, dresses, aprons & accessories
- High School: All borrowed items
- Costume Donation: Please don't throw out your costumes! If you don't want them anymore, please consider donating them to the Broadway Costume Closet. Drop any costumes off at any school office and label it "Costume Donation." Thank you!
March Board Highlights
- Motion to approve 2015 Tax Return was unanimously approved.
- The Valley Christian Board of Directors thanks the community for your feedback regarding the decision to retire the Crusader mascot. The Board has listened and will continue to listen prayerfully to your responses as we consider the next steps and timing of this decision.
Parent Association T-Shirt and Polo Sales Thursday, 4/6: from 7:45-8:15 am and 04/20 from 3:00-5:00pm in the VCHS Bldg B Room 23. In addition to new items we have leftover sweatshirts from last year and this years for sale.
The Annual Soup and Pie Dinner and Concert:

Next week a packet of information will be available at our website for you to read in preparation for the meeting. 2017-2018 VCMS Job Opening: Valley Christian Middle School is seeking a 7th Grade History or Science Teacher. Valley Christian After School Science Club for grades K-6. We still have openings for the Thursday class, 3/30, 4/6, 4/20 from 3:00-4:00 pm. 6th Grade Science Camp: Students in the 6th grade will be going to science camp on Wednesday, 3/29 through Friday, 3/31.

Kindergarten Observation Tours: We will host a Kindergarten Observation Tour at 8:30 am, on Thursday, 4/6. This tour is a wonderful way for prospective parents to visit our campus and focus on our Kindergarten program. They'll see teachers and students in action and explore specialty classes. Tours are available by reservation. Call Dianne at 562-860-0556 in the Business Office to join in.
Talent Show (Grades 1-6) Friday, 4/28:

From Monday, 4/3 through Friday, 4/28, there will be a contest between the elementary classes to find out who can collect the most box tops. Start asking relatives, friends, and members of church to help with collecting because the winning class will get a Pizza party! : This meeting is for parents of kindergarten students who will start school August 2017. You'll meet the Kindergarten teaching team and learn about important details, including A Day in The Life of a Kindergartener and Kindergarten testing days.
Lost and Found: Please check the Lost and Found for any items your child may be missing. Any items left over after Friday, 4/7 will be taken to Affordable Treasures.
No School for Kindergarten Students 4/21: For both half-day and full-day Kindergarten students, there will be no school on Friday, 4/21 while we test next year’s Kindergarteners.
Standardized Testing: will be held Monday, 4/24 through Friday, 4/28, for students in Grades 2-6. Please be sure students are well rested and eat a good breakfast. No interruptions will be made during the testing period.
Fishing Trip Raffle, Monday, 4/24: To raise money for the auction, sixth grade teacher, Mr. Vander Dussen, is offering a day of fishing this summer on his 19 1/2 foot boat, Striker. We will fish local ocean waters. This trip will be for one adult and two children. If you win, you may take your brother or sister or a friend! It includes all equipment, live bait and fish cleaning. Catching fish is guaranteed or he will take you out again! Tickets are $5 each or increase your chances and buy five tickets for $20! Extra tickets may be purchased at the Elementary School office. The drawing will be held at the Elementary School during chapel on Monday, 4/24. Make checks payable to Valley Christian Auction.

Thank you: parents, guardians, and other family members, for coming to the Science Fair and Art Exhibit. Valuable learning took place. Thank you for cheering on the kids as well as providing supplies, encouragement, and expertise. Thank you also to the parents and students who stayed to clean up and set up chairs!
8th to 9th Night:
8th grade parents, mark your calendar for the 8th to 9th Night coming up on Tuesday, 4/4
. It will be held in the Legacy Chapel on the High School campus at 7:00 pm. This is an important evening for both you and your student to start acquainting yourselves with the high school campus, the staff, and to begin understanding the wide variety of opportunities available to your student as they move into their high school years.
Snacks Donation: If you are interested in donating some non-perishable snacks for our students and tutors, we would appreciate it. Please drop these off at the Middle School office and let them know they are for the Homework Club. Thank you in advance.
VCMS Orientation & Study Skills (July 31 – Aug 4): Sign ups are coming soon for a summer class that will help your student discover the best ways to succeed through organization, time management, study strategies, and much more. This orientation is a great place to learn more about VCMS and meet new people before the year even begins. Students will master opening their locker and even get their schedule. This class is intended for all 7th graders and new 8th graders. Families can choose the 8:00-10:00 am session or the 10:30 am - 12:30 pm session. Cost $80.

AP Pre-Administration Meeting Wed., 4/5: The AP Pre-Administration meeting is taking place on Wed., 4/5, at 2:20 pm in the Legacy Chapel. This meeting is only for students who are currently taking AP classes and who will be taking their exams in May 2017. Please arrive promptly and bring a sharpened #2 pencil with you.

Camp Dunamis: Camp Registrations & Youth Counselors Needed for Camp Dunamis. It is a fun Christian camp for middle school youth. Campers must be entering 7th, 8th or 9th grade in the fall. Camp dates are Sunday, 6/18 - Friday, 6/23. It is an intentionally multi-racial camp that strives to help youth grow deeper in love with God and each other, bringing reconciliation to the places that often divide us. We are now accepting camper registrations and counselor applications at www.campdunamis.org. Counselor applications are due 4/20 and camper registrations are due 5/15.
