What will your Child Learn?

Valley Christian has a classroom that’s just right for your preschool child!
Christian character development and Bible scriptures are the basis for learning!
We focus on hands-on learning.
We have developmentally appropriate themes.
Children develop and learn at their own pace.
Our afternoon sessions include art, music, science and much, much more!
We
always consider the child’s individual development. In order to
maximize development we may place a child in a slower or faster paced
classroom, rather than by chronological age.
Terrific Threes
Children turning 3 years old by December 31
Ratio 1:12 (1 adult for every 12 children)
Potty
training is expected to be mastered. The children learn about
taking turns and following a routine that includes hands-on emphasis on
language development. This preschool environment emphasizes
outdoor activities and the beginning of ABC’s, numbers and shape
recognition in a fun and active environment. Language skills and
verbal expression is emphasized by the use of learning centers,
interactive play and Christian values of socialization.
Tiny
Tykes will be able to begin preschool at age 2.9 years if potty
training is mastered. The classroom is set up to accommodate our very
young three year olds with a more focused approach on language
development, attention span and socialization.
Fantastic Fours And Fives
Children turning 4 years old by December 31
Ratio 1:12 (1 adult for every 12 children)
Self-esteem
begins to run high in this classroom setting! Children are making
choices in various classroom-learning centers that challenge them to
learn. Math, letter recognition, art and music experiences,
science experiments, rhythm and movement, small and large muscle
development, along with a strong emphasis on social skills are found
daily in this classroom. Children will begin to print, recognize
the alphabet and learn simple and basic math concepts. In
addition the children will begin to memorize scripture verses and
simple poems. These children are learning more responsibilities
and have more structure in their hands-on learning environment.
Fun, freedom to explore and the ability to achieve are indicators that
these children will be ready for Kindergarten. Children that turn
5 years before December 31 are eligible for Kindergarten Connection or
the Kindergarten program at our elementary school. We provide testing
for all students to determine readiness for Kindergarten or
Kindergarten Connection.
