Financial Aid Available for 2010-2011
Valley Christian Schools is offering tuition assistance to families with demonstrated financial need. The Board of Directors encourages families to apply for financial aid, especially if you have more than one student at VCS.
The objective of the VCS aid program is to help close the gap between the amount a family can afford and the cost of a VCS education. Please note that every family is expected to contribute some portion of their student's tuition and additional school expenses. VCS offers only need-based financial aid, not academic, arts, or athletic scholarships.
How is aid determined?
Each case is confidential and is evaluated individually by an outside company, Facts Tuition.
How can my family apply?
Applications may be submitted online.
What paperwork is necessary?
Information about tax returns, cost of living expenses, assets and debts are used for the application. Delays may occur if the required documents are not submitted. Any changes in a family's financial situation may be explained in the application.
When is the deadline?
Returning families will be given priority consideration for financial aid by applying before May 21, 2010. New families may apply for financial aid prior to completing an application for admittance. Pre-approval of financial aid does not guarantee admittance to VCS.
What aid amounts are awarded?
The amount of aid is based on several factors including family income, expenses, assets and number of dependents. Families in the same income range may have different overall financial circumstances and may receive a different amount of financial aid.
A family earning less than $50,000 could qualify for up to a 30% reduction in their tuition. Families earning more than $50,000 could qualify for a reduction in their tuition ranging from 10% to 20%.
The amount of aid granted during any given year will vary based on pre-approved amounts of financial aid that may be granted as determined annually by the Finance Committee of the Board of Directors.
What happens after the application and other paperwork are submitted?
Facts Tuition will process your application and provide a report to Valley Christian Schools. A VCS Financial Aid Committee will confidentially review the result, determine the amount of aid, and notify you by mail. Please allow up to four weeks for the entire process. Returning families will be notified in June by mail with the results of their application.
