Academically we provide a rigorous education including six Honors courses and eleven Advanced Placement courses. After graduation, 97% of our students continue on to college. Our students attend each class four class periods a week including one extended class period in our modified block schedule. The Resource Program provides assistance for students with diagnosed learning issues.
As a part of the mission of Valley Christian High School, we believe that it is important for students to learn to live in gratitude for the abundance of blessings God has given them. Learning avenues of service as well as developing habits and patterns of servanthood are important Christian virtues. Each year our students have opportunities to serve both locally and globally. In recent years, we have traveled to El Salvador, Peru, Tijuana, and Zuni, New Mexico. More info...
Athletically, we field 35 teams in 16 different sports. We have celebrated 30 CIF Championships and over 190 League Championships. Nearly 60% of our students are involved in athletics. In addition, 40% of our students are involved in one or more of the clubs we offer.
The Arts are alive at Valley Christian High School. Over 40% of our students perform in our choirs, bands or orchestra. Each spring our Broadway Showcase highlights our students’ abilities in performing arts. A woodshop provides practical arts opportunities. Students have the opportunity to pursue interests in the fine arts of painting, drawing, and ceramics.
Our campus is located on 33 acres in the city of Cerritos. Education is supported in our state of the art math and science classrooms. Students have access to four computer labs including a laptop lab. Each classroom is nicely equipped with technology.
The highlight of our school is the faculty. Our experienced classroom teachers demonstrate a love for their students, their discipline, and Jesus Christ. This passion flows through individual and group interactions as the they instruct students in the process of making a difference for Jesus Christ in the world. Teachers have the ability to interact in a meaningful way with each student since we have an average class size of 21 students. Our counselors, school psychologist, and experienced administrative team provide an excellent learning environment for our students.
