Tuition Assistance

Tuition Assistance for 2013-2014

A Christian education is a highly beneficial asset and can also be a financial stress. The intent of Valley Christian Schools is to make assistance available to families who desire a Christian education for their child(ren) but are challenged by the cost. The Board of Directors encourages families to apply for a tuition adjustment, especially if they have more than one student at VCS. Assistance is available for students K – 12. It is our hope that we will be able to meet the needs of families who desire to partner with us in providing an excellent Christian education for their children.

Our commitment to your child's education is clarified in our mission statement -- In the light of the Lordship of Jesus Christ and the authority of God's Word, we will educate each unique student in cooperation with the Christian community so that he or she is equipped and inspired to make a difference for Jesus Christ in the world.

How is adjustment determined?

Each case is confidential and is evaluated by a third party, FAST, Financial Aid for School Tuition.  The VCS Tuition Assistance Committee allocates the funds based on reports provided by FAST.

How can my family apply?

  • Applications may be submitted online.
  • Access the FAST program here.
  • Click the Start Application button and follow the instructions
  • A tuition assistance application is considered complete upon submitting it online and mailing the required documents to FAST.
  • Applicants must re-apply each year.

Prospective Families:

Prospective families may apply for a tuition adjustment prior to applying for admission.

For the 2013-14 school year, families can begin applying as early as November 1, 2012.

Returning Family Deadline:

A complete application incudes mailing a 2012 W2 Form and 2012 tax return to FAST. The deadline has been extended past March 31, 2013. The results will be sent through the mail.

What adjustment amounts are awarded?

The amount of the adjustment is based on several factors including family income, expenses, assets and number of dependents.  Families in the same income range may have different overall financial circumstances and may receive a different adjustment amount.

The amount of adjustment granted during any given year will vary based on pre-approved amounts determined annually by the Finance Committee of the Board of Directors.
