Broadway Showcase 2018 Auditions will take place in November. Our canteen has been known and recognized for its award winning Tri-Tip sandwiches and Tri-Tip chili. We are seeking a grill master to cook tri-tip at our Friday home football games. Thanksgiving Break Daycare packets are available online and in Daycare. These packets are due by 11/6.October lunch bunch date: Wednesday, 10/25.Pumpkin Day: On Tuesday, 10/31 we will be celebrating Pumpkin Day at school. All Children are allowed to attend on this day between 10:00 and 11:00 AM. Please dress your child in something Orange to celebrate this fun day.Thank you to all the parents who signed up to donate to our Pumpkin Day activities. Items can be dropped off in the preschool office or given to your child's teacher.
TerraNova Standardized Test scores for the 2016-2017 school year finally arrived and were mailed out last week. If you did not receive them, please contact the VCES office.Parent Teacher Conferences will be held Monday, 10/16 through Thursday, 10/26. You should have received a notification from your child's teacher.Spirit Day on Tuesday, 10/31: Book Character Day - Join the fun and dress up as your favorite book character.Third Grade field trip on Tuesday, 10/31 - students will be visiting the Natural History Museum.Round 2 - Color Changing Slime & Geyser Risers: Valley Christian After School Science Club for grades K-6. Two classes are available for Wednesdays, 11/8, 11/15, 11/29, 12/6 and Thursdays, 11/9 11/16 ,11/30, 12/7 from 3:00-4:00 PM. Registration is open with a class size limit of 26. More details to follow!Box Tops Contest: Who can collect and turn in the most Box Tops between 11/1 - 11/30? There will be a contest between elementary classes, and the winning class will get a pizza party! Start now--ask relatives, friends, and members of your church to help with collecting. Each Box Top square is worth 10 cents and it adds up fast. 100% of the proceeds go to defray the cost of VCES 6th grade Science Camp.Order your Yearbook: The VCES 2017-2018 yearbook is available for purchase online only. If you would like a yearbook, please go to the online order form for more information and to place your order. Personal dedications can also be purchased online.Submit your photos for possible inclusion in the VCES yearbook. We especially need photos from Sports Day June 2017. Your middle schooler received a Student Led Conference information letter which included scheduling information last week from his/her advisement teacher. If you have not seen this yet, please speak with your student. They were due Friday, 10/13.Students that had 5 or more magazine sales or donations will enjoy a cheeseburger lunch on campus on Monday, 10/23.Middle School Play on Thursday, 11/16 and Friday, 11/17 at 7:00 PM. Come to the middle school chapel to see the rowdy performances of the play Wagon Wheels a-Rollin' by Tim Kelly. Tickets can be purchased at the VCMS office or at the door--student tickets are $3, and adult tickets are $5.
Congratulations to Seniors Payton Kooi and Joshua Rupprecht who have been named Commended Students in the 2018 National Merit Scholarship Program. They placed among the top 50,000 scorers of more than 1.6 million students who took the qualifying test.High School Parent-Teacher Conferences are on Tuesday, 10/24 and Thursday, 10/26. The seniors had an opportunity to register for Parchment, an on-line service for ordering transcripts last week. This is a service that the seniors will start using more as they are applying for colleges, after graduation when colleges require final transcripts, and as alumni when their transcripts are needed. The best practice is to always use the student account to order transcripts.
