No school the week of Thanksgiving - Monday through Friday, 11/19-11/23. Campus offices will be closed and the Business Office will be open Monday and Tuesday.Daycare will be open during Thanksgiving Week on Monday, 11/19 and Tuesday 11/20 from 7:00 AM - 6:00 PM. Please use this registration form or register with the Daycare Director ASAP. All current daycare fees need to be paid, before registering.Buy Scrip now and plan ahead for the holidays: Raise funds for our school while earning a tuition credit for the next school year. Use SCRIP to purchase all your grocery, gas & gift needs. With SCRIP, shopping is fundraising with no cost to you! Fill out and drop off an order form at any campus or visit the following campuses.

All Sweatshirt orders need to be turned in by this Thursday, 11/15 to any school office for Parents Association sweatshirts. Sweatshirt order forms are here and this is the last chance to pre-order sweatshirts for the school year.VCHS Baseball is having a fundraiser on Thursday, 11/15 at Raising Cane's in Lakewood. Use this flier.VCS Thanksgiving Service: Parents and friends of VCS are invited to join all TK - 12th grade students and staff for worship on Friday, 11/16 from 1:30-2:15 PM in the High School gym. After worship, students will return to their own campuses and bus routes will run as usual. Preschool students will participate in their own Thanksgiving celebration at their campus.Thanksgiving Worship Service & Food Drive: This year our school is supporting the Long Beach Basket Brigade. Lunch Bunch day will be Wednesday, 11/28: Your child may bring a lunch to enjoy with us from 11:30-11:55 AM. On the day of a scheduled Lunch Bunch, please let your child's teacher know that they will be staying until 11:55 AM.Thanksgiving Parade and Feast on Friday, 11/16 from 11:00 AM -12:00 PM. All children and parents are invited to join us for this special Thanksgiving celebration.Thanksgiving Feast sign-ups are available on the preschool playground! Robotics at the Elementary and Middle School: We had two First Lego League (FLL) teams that competed in the Orange Qualifier on Saturday, 11/10. Both teams advanced to the So Cal Regional Tournament to be held at Legoland on 12/8! Congratulations to the Space Invaders for 2nd place in Project and Planetary Programmers who came in 2nd for Champions!Student pictures were sent home last week. Please check your child's backpack. Class pictures are not included with this packet, they will be sent home later after the makeup day.Box Tops Contest from 11/5 - 12/5: Which class can collect and turn in the most Box Tops? The winning class will get a pizza party! Ask relatives, friends, and members of your church to help with collecting. Each Box Top square is worth 10 cents and it adds up fast. 100% of the proceeds go to defray the cost of VCES 6th grade Science Camp.Thanksgiving Break Daycare packets are past due. Info is available here. Daycare needs to know ASAP if your child is coming.Picture Make-Up/Retake Day will be Wednesday, 11/14. Students taking pictures may wear free dress and change into their uniform clothes after they are finished. If your child is having their picture retaken, please have them bring in their original picture packet.Skatedogs Mobile Skateboard Park will be offering another 10-session class at the elementary campus on Fridays, beginning 11/30. Middle School Play is this Thursday, 11/15 and Friday, 11/16 at 7:00 PM. Come to the middle school chapel to see the magical performances of the play The Enchanted Bookstore by Todd Wallinger. The 8th grade team is looking for about 10-15 chaperones to accompany us to the Science Center. We will be leaving the middle school around 8:45 AM and returning close to 2:30 PM. We plan on seeing an IMAX production and then spending time touring the science center until we leave. The Epic Robotz Open House/Show & Tell is on Saturday, 11/17 at 1:00 PM in Building B on the High School campus. Everyone is invited! This year’s fall-session projects include a new six-wheel experimental robot, a frisbee shooter and turn table, a targeting system, updated robot programming and control systems, new electronic gadgets, system support equipment, old robot reboots, and more. We think you’ll be impressed!The Sadie Hawkins Dance is Saturday, 12/1. The dance will be on campus from 7:30-11:00 PM; doors close at 8:30 PM. Tickets are $15 and will be sold the week of 11/26 - 11/30 during lunch in the high school office. TICKETS WILL NOT BE SOLD AFTER LUNCH ON FRIDAY, 11/30 OR AT THE DOOR.
