    The VCS Annual Fundraiser and Auction was a great success. We are very grateful for all of our volunteers and families who donated items, and who donated money, and everyone who attended. Thank You!

    Broadway Showcase Taco Man Fundraiser! Join us on Friday, March 1st - 3:00 – 6:00 PM for a Taco Man fundraiser. $12 for 3 tacos, beans, rice and a drink. We’ll see you at the VC High School Legacy Chapel.
     
    Broadway Showcase Grams go on Pre-Sale this Friday, March 1st 5:00-9:00 PM. This is a fun and easy way for you to send some love to your student during their BWSC performances on March 7 & 8. Stop by our table during the dress rehearsals on March 1st and March 4th and pre-order your grams. This year we will offer candy leis, two sizes of stuffed animals and of course, three types of floral arrangements to meet every budget need. These items are first come, first served and supplies are limited. Don't forget grandparents, friends, etc...may send grams too. Questions about the BWSC Grams can be directed to Tracy Sturm tracysturm@remax.net.
     
    Broadway Showcase - Thank you to all who have already blessed the Broadway Showcase staff with a meal! You are greatly appreciated! The staff still needs meals for March 5th, 6th and 7th. If you feel that The Lord is leading you to provide a meal for them, please sign up HERE.

    The VC Spirit Store will be open tonight, Monday, 2/26, 6:30-8:30 PM. The Spirit Store sells VC t-shirts, sweatshirts, jackets, hats, and socks. It is located on the high school campus in room B23. Cash, check, and digital payments are accepted. Questions can be emailed to Alyson Hogan at cnatrans@yahoo.com. The store will not be open on Tuesday after school.
     
    Join us at Moms in Prayer! Come occasionally or weekly as we pray for our children and schools. Service hours can be earned. If you have questions or prayer requests, contact Julie Long at julieflute@gmail.com. Anyone (students included) can leave prayer requests in the prayer boxes in the school offices.

    Community Helpers Wanted: 2/26-3/1. We will be learning about community helpers (mailman, dentist, police officer, firefighter). If you would like to share with our preschool students how you help the community, please let your child's teacher or Mrs. Sara know. We will set up a 15-minute time slot for you to share.

    The Interscholastic Fine Arts Festival for grades 5-8 will be this Thursday, 2/29 throughout the school day at Crosspoint Church, 6950 Edison Ave., Chino. Parents must provide transportation and supervision for this event. Event information and schedule can be found here.     Valley Christian's FIRST Lego League Team 1711 (the Vincent Van Gogh Bots) are going to Norway! They accepted an invitation to compete in the FLL Open European Championship from May 13-17, and will compete alongside 49 other teams. In addition to representing Valley Christian, they will also be the team representing the USA! Congratulations to team members Grace Byma, Seth Carranza, Sonja Jasper, Lily Kang, Joseph Nour, and Jason Perona, as well as Coach Gerrit Byma and Coach Simona Nour!
     
    VCES Parents - Join us for Parenting with Purpose - Coffee with the Counselor on Tuesday, 2/27, 6:30 - 7:30 PM in the MultiPurpose Room at VCES. Parenting is complex and not often as easy as we thought it might be. The load becomes lighter when we share our burdens, curiosities, and ideas together. You'll sit in the company of like-minded parents; joined by a common desire to do the best we can to raise children who love God and love people well. Childcare is provided for donation.     3D Printing Program! All Things Science Club is excited to introduce our new 8-week 3D Printing program, a unique hands-on experience for your children to explore the realms of design and science. Each week, students will delve into a different theme, learning about its history and scientific background before bringing their ideas to life with 3D printing pens.     Pop Tabs: We are partnering with The Ronald McDonald House to help families in their time of need by collecting Pop Tabs. Students may bring in their pop tabs at any time.
     
    Discover the World of Lego Robotics! Each week, budding engineers will assemble and code their own Lego robots, navigating them through a series of thrilling challenges. A Valley Christian after-school science club for grades K-5th. Classes will be on Tuesdays and Wednesdays beginning January 16 & 17 - 3:00-4:00 PM.     LOST AND FOUND - Lost and Found items will be donated to Affordable Treasures on the last day of each month. Please have your child check for any missing items.
     

    Middle School
     
    8th Grade Parents - join us tonight! The VCHS Class Registration Night is tonight (Monday, 2/26) at 7:00 PM in the VCHS Gym. This night is important for both students and parents to attend. We look forward to seeing you there!

    Spring sports are coming quickly! Tryouts for girls/boys soccer, baseball, softball, and boys volleyball will be held at the end of February/beginning of March. For tryouts, girls will have to choose soccer or softball, and the boys will have to choose baseball, soccer, or volleyball. Students will only be able to participate in one spring sport. Be on the lookout for more information.
     
    Save The Date! The VCMS Science Fair will be held on 3/21.

    Moms of Seniors '24 - Are you feeling the waves of emotions in your home as you encourage your senior to end all things well, while motivating them about all things yet to come? In our monthly Senior Mom prayer time, we have discovered we have much in common as we navigate this final high school year with our senior. We'd love to have you join us on Monday, 2/26 at 7:00 PM in the VCHS Library to pray for our seniors. Check the VC Calendar or VC email for additional dates.

    Scholarships for Seniors - The following scholarship applications have been posted and seniors are encouraged to apply. These are made possible through the generosity of VCHS parent organizations, VC Alumni, and VC supporters.     BIOLA Film Camp 2024: Presented by Biola University’s Snyder School of Cinema & Media Arts (“CMA”), the Biola Film Camp is a six-day hands-on movie-making experience for high school students of all ability levels (no experience needed). There are two sessions: June 9-15 and June 23-29. Camp sessions include courses, workshops, and hands-on access to the university’s camera, lighting, and sound equipment; soundstages; and edit suites inside CMA’s Production Center. Off-campus excursions include a film screening in Hollywood, a tour of Warner Bros Studio, and a day at Universal Studios theme park.     Seniors - The redesigned FAFSA is finally available, visit https://studentaid.gov/h/apply-for-aid/fafsa to begin the process.
     
    Senior Parents: The US Department of Education (FAFSA) announced that processing 24-25 FAFSAs will be delayed until the “first half of March”. This means:
    • No colleges will receive any FAFSAs until mid-March (so no financial aid letters until after that date).
    • Families will not be able to make corrections/changes to already submitted FAFSAs until mid-March.
    • Families will not be notified of errors or additional information needed for their FAFSAs until mid-March.
