• To prevent data loss be sure you have an active and recent iCloud Backup.

If you get an error stating that there is not enough iCloud storage to back up your iPad, you can do one or more of the following:

    1) Free up space on your iPad by moving your videos and photos to Google drive:

    • Open the Google Drive App and sign in if required
    • Tap the plus sign (+) in the top right corner
    • Create a Folder by tapping "New Folder," and it "Photos from My iPad"
    • Tap the Folder to open it
    • Tap the plus sign (+) in the top right corner
    • Tap "Upload Photos or Videos"
    • Tap "Camera Roll"
    • Select the photos or video that you want to upload (don't do too many at one time, maybe 10 at a time is good)
    • Repeat the process and wait until all your files have completed the upload process
    • After your videos and photos are uploaded to Google Drive, open the Photos app and remove them from the iPad (you may need to remove them again from the "Recently Deleted" album also).

    2) Get more iCloud Storage (99 cents per month for 50GB) * Please note this does not apply to Managed Apple ID's.

    • Go to Settings->iCloud->Storage and tap "Buy More Storage"
    • Select the level of storage that you want to get.
    • You will need to have your AppleID already associated with a credit card, or have enough credit in your iTunes account.  You can add credit using an iTunes gift card.

    3) Remove old backups of other devices from your iCloud storage * Please note this does not apply to Managed Apple ID's.

    • Go to Settings->iCloud->Storage->Manage Storage
    • Tap any device listed, but not the one marked "This iPad"
    • The date and size of the backup is shown.
    • You can safely delete the backup if it's old or no longer needed (deleting backup does not affect the data on the device)
    • If the device is still in use by someone else who shares your AppleID, be sure to check with them before deleting their backups.
