  • Sophomore/Junior Scoresback Night - On Thursday, January 17, 2019 the VCHS Counseling Dept. will be hosting guest speaker, Nick Standlea, from Test Prep Gurus in Seal Beach. Nick will br presenting to the 10th and 11th grade parents and students regarding PreACT and PSAT Scores, as well as college admissions. The presentation will be from 6:45-7:30 pm in the Choir Room, C32.

  • The Cerritos Optimist Club has planned their Annual Oratorical Contest to be held on two Thursday evenings. The girls contest is scheduled for Feb 28, 2019 and the boy's contest is on March 7, 2019 in the Cerritos Library Skyline Room beginning at 6:00 pm The contest is open to all students under the age of 19 as of October 1, 2018. All applications myst be received by February 14, 2019. Please see Mrs Doornbos at the attendance desk or pick up an application in the SSB.

  • 2019 Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Cerritos Area Alumnae Chapter Scholarship: Student appliants must be graduating Seniors and meet the following eligibility criteria: Be of African-American /Black Heritage, have a minimum 2.75 GPA, and plan to attend a 4 year university or 2 year community college in the Fall.   • The Tutoring Center Franchise has an Intern Position opening for a Valley Christian Student. This is a paid internship available at the Company Headquarters in Long Beach, CA. Great part-time hours with good pay ($12-15 per hour, about 8 hrs a week, no weekends) and a very flexible schedule, can come in two afternoons per week. The Student must hold a 3.5 GPA, be a responsible young adult and have completed HS Algebra 1, Geometry, and Algebra 2 with A's and Bs.     The registration fee for the ACT National Test is $50.50 ; ACT National Test plus writing is $67.00 . Late registration will result in an additional fee of $29.50. . Students are strongly urged to register on line for the ACT at www.actstudent.org . Also additional information is available on http://www.act.org You may also register by mail if you are paying by check or money order, and/or you are requesting extended time or other accommodations. Mail-in registration forms are available, in limited supply, in the high school counseling office.If you cannot afford the test fee, ask your Counselor about requesting a fee waiver.
