For 85 years - your giving makes an impact
Dear Valley Christian Community Member,
85 years ago, in the midst of the Great Depression, Bellflower Christian School was founded by a group of dairy farmers led by Reverend Gareth Kok, the writings of Abraham Kuyper, and the inspiration of God. This school is what we know and love today as Valley Christian Schools.
The 2019-2020 school year marks the 85th anniversary of Valley Christian Schools (formerly Bellflower Christian Schools). VCS is 85 years young and we give all the praise, glory and honor to God. He has continuously blessed our schools and allowed VCS to remain a beacon of light to our surrounding communities, our state, our nation and the world.
In order to establish the new Christian school, the community gathered in prayer and sacrificed their time, talents and treasures. The financial sacrifices of the Valley Christian community today are no less necessary than they were in 1935. We need the tradition of giving to VCS to continue. Today, as in 1935, tuition does not cover the full cost of annual student education.
In honor of the 85th anniversary of VCS, we are asking you to give a sum between $8.50 to $8,500. Two of our very generous donors have come together to join each of us by matching every gift up to a total of $85,000.
One of the most important needs of a long-standing institution like Valley Christian is a large group of people willing to give and to give consistently. We know amounts will always vary from small to large. It is consistency that offers the greatest contribution to longevity.
If you have been a consistent supporter of VCS, we thank you and ask you to continue as the need has not changed. If you have never given to VCS, or if it’s been awhile, please know that your giving makes an impact, AND YOUR GIFT TODAY IS DOUBLED!
Valley Christian is poised to make a great impact in this community and the world for the next 85 years and beyond. Please consider partnering with us during this exciting time as we write the current chapter in the rich history of our schools.
Please join me (Class of ’93) and my wife Annie (Class of ’97) in giving to Valley Christian Schools. Make a contribution to the future impact of VCS and our students.
Thank you for time, thank you for your prayers and thank you for your support.
