How can 7th-12th grade students install apps on their iPads?
To install non-school-related apps (games, entertainment, etc), parents must approve/install the app by signing into Powerschool with a parent account and using the Student iPad link. It's best to do this from a computer. Click here for more details...
Where do I go to see my students' grades?
PowerSchool (http://ps.vcschools.org) - This is our Student Information System (grades & attendance). If you do not already have a parent account please use this form to create one. If you have created an account in the past and forgot your username or password, use the “Forgot Username or Password” link here or on the Sign In page to reset it.
Where do I go to see what my student is doing in each class?
Canvas (http://vcschools.instructure.com) - This is our Learning Management System (assignments & class information). If you have a Canvas parent account and need to reset your password, go to the sign-in page and click “Forgot Password”. To setup your parent account please visit www.vcschools.org/canvas for detailed instructions (and a help video).
I don't seem to be receiving text messages or emails from the school. What can I do?
If you are not already receiving schoolwide email or text notifications, sign up here. You can also call any school office to verify we have the correct contact information.
What do I do if my child's iPad is damaged?
If the iPad is still under warranty, the campus technology staff will process the repair or replacement. Please fill out the repair form and either email it to the tech staff or have your child bring it in along with the broken iPad. A loaner will be provided until the iPad is repaired or replaced. Repairs or replacements generally take about 1-2 business days.
If the warranty is expired, you will be required to work directly with Apple or a 3rd party repair shop to process the repair. VCS will provide a loaner for up to five school days. After the fifth school day there will be a $5 per day fee for use of the loaner iPad. If you are unable to get the iPad repaired, you can order a new one here.
I am a senior or am transferring out of VCS - what do I do with my iPad?
At the end of your time at VCS, we will "release" your iPad so that you can remove the restrictions and other policies installed on your iPad by VCS. Please follow these instructions.
