    Walking With God was developed to ensure a strong and lasting connection with students. The goal is to equip students with the knowledge they need to understand and believe God's word, and to reflect that relationship and faith by living lives of gratitude and obedience.

    Math
    Everyday Math, published by McGraw-Hill, 2020
    Grade Levels: 1-5
    McGraw-Hill Everyday Math  provides the rigor, personalization, and student engagement your students need to be successful with your state standards.     Maneuvering the Middle: A Pre-Algebra / Algebra Program
    Grade Level: 6
    Maneuvering the Middle provides a comprehensive year-long curricula for students working at various levels. The resources included are engaging, cooperative and student-centered. Students are able to make real-world connections and build their math foundation as they progress through the curricula. 

    Language Arts
    Journeys Common Core, published by Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, 2014
    VCES uses the Journeys Common Core in grades K-3.  Journeys is a reading/language arts program with integrated Common Core instructional design. Explicit phonics instruction, direct academic vocabulary preparation, close-reading skills, guided reading, and systematic reading strategies are applied to complex texts. Integrated language arts components and writing activities complement the curriculum. Differentiated instruction and scaffolding ensure every student is given an opportunity to succeed.
    Write Source, published by Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, 2012
    VCES uses the Write Source curriculum in grades 4-6.  Write Source is a writing and grammar program.  Writing and grammar are taught side by side, allowing students to improve in grammar as they develop in writing.  Students learn the six traits of writing: ideas, organization, voice, word choice, sentence fluency, and conventions.  They then integrate all of the traits into the writing process: prewriting, writing, revising, editing, and publishing.  Students build confidence in writing and grammar and are more prepared for higher learning.

    Social Studies
    Studies Weekly - A student-friendly core curriculum organized thematically to the social studies strands of civics and government, geography, economics, and history. All within a student-friendly periodical format and robust online learning platform.

    Science
    Mystery Science - K-5
    In Mystery Science, students investigate through hands-on activities, online videos, interactive group work, and classroom discussion.  The lessons link the real world to the classroom through by meeting all of the NGSS science standards.
    CA Elevate Earth Science - 6th Grade
    6th grade Earth science is both an exploration of God’s creation, as well as a look into humanity's role as caretakers and stewards of creation. The curriculum is designed to meet California’s Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS). Students will be using the California Elevate Earth Science textbook from the Pearson Company.
