    Friday, 10/22 - No school TK - 12th, Preschool open
    Please come and eat at Cerritos Chick-Fil-A on Thursday, 10/21 from 6:30 AM-9:00PM. We are having a fundraiser for the Service Leadership class and please bring this flyer with you at the time of sale in order for us to receive a donation.
    On Friday 10/29, Valley Christian will be honoring our 1981 CIF Championship Track Team at halftime of the varsity football game. VC has invited Coach Mary Schutten and the ’81 Team for a dinner and they will be introduced at half time of the Varsity football game. This was a very talented team and 2 members of this team still hold 4 VC Track Records. Alumni and fans, please take the opportunity to meet and congratulate the Team and Coach after halftime.
    Parent Service Hours Opportunities:
    • The Parent Association is in desperate need of volunteers at our campuses. If you need service hours or just want to get out and meet other VCS parents, please contact the following chairperson per site.

    • HS Football Games Canteen - A fun way to get those service hours is to help out in the canteen during football season. Working in the canteen not only supports our football team but Valley Athletic Boosters, which supports all sports programs at Valley Christian. Please sign up here.     October is Fire and Earthquake Safety Month so we will be talking a lot about these two topics. We have earthquake drills Thursday 10/21 and Friday 10/22.
    Farm Breakfast with Dad: Wednesday, 10/20 from 8:00-9:00 AM or Thursday, 10/21 from 7:30-8:30 AM.
    Farm Breakfast with Dad Donations: can be dropped off in the preschool office on Tuesday (10/19). Thank you!
    Pumpkin Week: Thank you to all the parents who signed up to bring items for PUMPKIN WEEK! Please drop items off to your child's teacher or the preschool office by Monday (10/25).


    Elementary School
    Science Class - Holiday Slime! Registration is open for students in grades K - 4th. Class will be held on four consecutive Tuesdays, Oct. 19, 26, Nov. 2, 9, 3:00-4:00 at the elementary campus.
    Parent Teacher Conferences are scheduled to be held until 10/21. You should have received a notification from your child's teacher.
    Lost and Found - Please stop by the Lost and Found to see if you are missing any items.
    Pop Tabs: We are partnering with The Ronald McDonald House to help families in their time of need by collecting Pop Tabs. Students can bring in their pop tabs at any time.
    Book Character Spirit Day - Friday, 10/29 - Join the fun and dress up as your favorite book character.
    3rd grade will be going to the Natural History Museum on Wednesday, 10/27.


    Middle School  
    VCMS Student-Led Conferences are this week, 10/18-10/21. Please be sure to check Lost & Found while you are here on campus. All unclaimed items will be donated to Affordable Treasures on Monday, 10/25.
    Our first 'Middle School Preview' event of the year is Wednesday, 10/20 at 10:00 AM. Know anyone interested in our Middle School? Invite them to join us as we share information about our school and tour the campus.
    Each year, the middle school participates in the Great California ShakeOut. This year we will observe it on Tuesday, 10/19 at 8:23 AM. This is not a great day for middle schoolers to be late, because students and parents might be waiting patiently outside our door for about 30 minutes while we run this very important practice drill. Thanks in advance for your understanding

    High School
    Parent-Teacher Conferences are coming up at the high school on Tuesday, 10/19 and Thursday, 10/21 from 3:00-6:00 PM each day. Look for an email with more information about how to sign up for conferences. Friday, 10/22 - no school
    Lost and Found! It’s time to reconnect with that item you or your student has been searching for. Check out the Lost and Found while you’re at the high school for conferences. Lost and found tables will be located in the Student Services Building by the Attendance desk.
    Counseling Office News: On-Campus College Visits. Tuesday, 10/19 George Fox University 11:50-12:15 PM, in the Quad
    Practice ACT - 10th and 11th Graders - Valley Christian has partnered with Test Prep Gurus and will be offering a full length practice ACT test on Saturday, 11/06 at VCHS. Please sign up using the following google form. Space is limited to 40 students. The cost will be $20.
    CSULB 6th Annual College Inclusion Summit: Increasing diversity with information Virtual Events. This event is open to all interested High School & transfer students & parents/guardians. This event is so students/parents can learn more about CSULB and what they have to offer. You can receive assistance with completing the FAFSA and CA Dream Act and CSU Application. There will be multiple workshops for students as well as parents and guardians.
