    Thanksgiving Break - There will be no school the week of 11/23 - 11/27. All school offices will be closed including the Business Office.

    Variable Tuition for the 2021-22 School Year - Variable Tuition at Valley Christian is a way to meet tuition needs for families based on individual financial situations. While we may not be able to meet every situation, our team works to assist as we are able. Variable Tuition is available to Full-Day TK through 12th grade. We use a confidential financial assistance application processing service called FAST- Financial Aid for School Tuition. We require everyone to reapply each year. The application will require the following copies: your 2019 Federal and State Income Tax returns and all supporting schedules along with your 2019 W-2s and/or 1099 forms. Please submit all these documents directly to FAST. If we receive your completed application by 12/20/20, you will have your results by late January 2021 in time for re-enrollment. Applications received after 12/2020 will not be considered until after the re-enrollment period (2/15/21) and will be based on funds available.
    Thanksgiving Pie Drive - The VCHS Service Leadership Program is doing a Thanksgiving Pie Drive from now until 11/17. The items will be given to the “Community Table” in Bellflower, which supports our friends in need of meals and groceries. Please drop the following items at your campus office by 11/17.     Thanksgiving Sign ups: Thank you to everyone who signed up to bring items for our Thanksgiving Feast! Please drop off items in the Preschool Office on Wednesday, 11/18. If you are bringing chicken nuggets, please bring on your sign up day.
    We will be closed the week of Thanksgiving. There will be no daycare for preschool students.

    See's Candies fundraiser will start on Thursday, 11/19. All orders will be placed online and will be directly shipped to your house!

    Chapel Offerings: This year we will be joining Encounter Church and purchasing items for their Christmas Toy Store Shopping. The "Toy Store" will give families in need the opportunity to purchase items at 90% off retail value for their children and the joy to be able to purchase items for their children this Christmas Season. We look forward to blessing these families so any donation amount is appreciated.


    Elementary School
    Report cards were mailed out on Friday, 11/13.
    Fundraiser Prizes were handed out to students last week. There is a change on the date for the Free Dress Pass; students may wear free dress on either Thursday, 11/19 or Thursday, 12/3.
    College Spirit Day, Monday, 11/30. Wear something from your favorite college or the college you support! Spirit Day is optional. If you do not wish to participate, please be in uniform.
    Box Tops for Education - Traditional Box Tops clips are being phased out of production but may continue to be found on many products throughout the store. The Next Generation of Box Tops is here.     Middle School  
    Group B students will be able to come to campus on Friday for their Core Classes. Group A, please plan to show up to the classes remotely.
    Progress Report Grids are now available in Powerschool.
    A packet was sent home last week to all football and girls basketball players with forms, schedules and fee's. Please have your child turn this in to the office by Friday, 11/20.

    High School
    Daily Schedule - One slight change to the High School schedule starting today - 7th Period will now start at 12:30 PM instead of 1:00 PM for all students - remote and hybrid learners!
    Helpful Hints for Hybrid Learning
    • Check-in - Please arrive between 8:00-8:20 AM; 9th and 10th grade will check in between Halls B and HH; 11th and 12th grade will check in between Hall HH and the High School Office
    • Arrivals after 8:30 AM - please check in through the High School Office
    • Study Halls - For students with Study Halls during 1st, 2nd, 6th, and 7th period - they will be available on campus if needed; however, students are allowed to arrive late or leave early if they have study halls during those periods to assist with health safety.
    Pumpkin Pie Filling Needed! The VCHS Service Leadership Program is doing a Thanksgiving Pie Drive until tomorrow, 11/17. The items will be given to the “Community Table” in Bellflower, which supports our friends in need of meals and groceries. The High School campus is collecting canned pumpkin filling, which can be dropped off in the High School office any time 11/17.
    Thanksgiving Week - There will be no school Monday-Friday, 11/23-11/27. The High School Office will also be closed that week.
    Planning ahead? High School Exam Week will be Monday-Wednesday, 12/16-12/18. High School students will not be required to attend school on Thursday, 12/19. All students will be remote that week, there will not be any hybrid options on campus. More details will be shared soon.
    Counseling News
    The College application deadlines are quickly approaching:  If you need transcripts or have questions please notify your counselor before Friday afternoon as school will be closed for the week of Thanksgiving.

    Friday College Application Workshops have started. Every Friday in November, Seniors are welcome to the SSB to work on their college applications with the Counselors from 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM. Students must sign up for the application workshop because there is limited space. Here is the sign-up sheet. You can also find it on the counseling homepage in Canvas.
