    Dear Valley Christian Family,

As we enter the month of June, I would like to update you on our planning for the Fall of 2020. At this point, we have started making plans to reopen for on-campus, in-person learning for the Fall 2020 semester. Teams from each campus have started to plan for teaching and learning on campus with modifications based on local and state guidelines. In addition to this, a health and safety team is working to make sure our supplies, procedures, and protocols meet the guidelines that we will be opening under.

Prior to school opening in the Fall, we have summer programs that we will be opening on a smaller scale with a limited number of participants. Today, June 1, we have opened our preschool and summer daycare program. These programs are operating in smaller groups per the guidelines. In addition to this, we will slowly allow small groups of students such as athletes and Robotics team members to resume with social distancing workouts and other non-contact activities. The reopening of these programs will give us a glimpse of what our opening in the Fall will look like. If you are participating in any of these programs, please see the direct communication from that program for check-in and safety protocols. Please plan on a longer check-in time as every individual will have his/her temperature taken at the gate. Finally, in an effort to reduce the number of people on campus at one time, we will not be allowing adults on campus to watch the activities.

We will be sending a survey to gain insight into how we can partner with you for the Fall semester. The survey will give us an idea as to how many families desire on-campus learning vs. how many need a remote learning option due to health concerns in their family. Please watch for this survey in your email soon.

We pray you and your student(s) find creative ways to enjoy your summer and connect with family and friends. Though the year has ended we know that students may be experiencing social and emotional stress from what was just finished and what is to come. Our counselors would like to support you and have put together a social/emotional guide for parents that can be found by opening the letter attached to this email.

Finally, please join our school community in praying for the shalom of God to spread across our state and country. Valley Christian Schools stands with all of our families in seeking understanding, justice, peace, and reconciliation in response to the events of the past week. It is my prayer that each of us be agents of shalom during these unsettling times.

Thank you for continuing to partner with Valley Christian Schools to equip and inspire our students to advance the Kingdom of God. May God bless you and your family over the summer months.

    In Him,

    Troy Stahl
