Spiritual Formation
At Valley Christian Schools, student faith development remains central to who we are. We desire to encourage, grow, and develop each student's faith during his/her time at VCS. Our mission is to “Equip and Inspire"our students for a life of service to Jesus Christ through chapels, devotions, spiritual retreats, and Bible studies on each campus. We believe faith and learning go hand-in-hand in the classroom, in the fine arts, and on the playing fields/courts. Our teachers and staff are committed followers of Jesus Christ who seek to impact the faith journey of each student under their care. They are committed to excellence, both spiritually and academically.
While on the elementary campus students have the privelege of starting their days with daily devotions and prayer. Students also have a set Bible curriculum at each grade level and monthly memory verses to help them in their spiritual developemnt. Our teachers are contiually pointing our students to Christ throughout all aspects of the day. Every Monday we also have a wonderful time worshipping together in chapel. Each class has an opportunity to lead chapel through fun, engaging skits and songs. We are committed to building a strong Christian foundation for our students.
Community Outreach
Teaching our students to be the hands and feet of Jesus in our communities is an important part of what we teach at VCES. Throughout their time on our campus we provide many opportunities for students to connect with those who need the hope of Jesus. Each grade level will choose to focus on a different group of people in need.
Examples of community outreach include:
- Partnership with the Artesia Christian Home
- Collecting Pop Tabs for the Ronald Mc Donald House
- Partnership with local food banks
- Creating Care Packages for the homeless
- Supporting our Military by sending care packages
- Delivering kind notes to our neighbors
- Sponsoring a Child in another country
- Thanksgiving Food Drives
- Christmas Toy Drives
- And Many More…
