VALLEY CHRISTIAN HIGH SCHOOL SCHOLARSHIPS: These scholarships are exclusive to Valley Christian High School students. The applications can be picked up in the college and career center. The application is to be turned into Mrs Doornbos by the due date.
Trades and Techs Scholarship: Due Wed 04/19/17 One $1000.00 scholarship towards tuition to a vocational school will be awarded to a graduating senior who is pursuing a trade or technical career. Typical trade or vocational schools would include the mechanical trades, dental or medical technician careers, computer technician, and others that involve formal training to achieve a license necessary for that career. Classes taken at local colleges or universities to obain this training must be career specific to be eligible
Pay it Forward Scholarship Application due Wed 04/19/17 The Pay it Forward scholarship is financed by a business from our community. Its goal is to help one graduate each year who has the personal drive and determination to be successful in college, and who has a real financial need. This scholarship is more for a student struggling to afford a CSU or UC college. You must be a hard worker, who has a good GPA (3.0) and who plans to attend college full time while also working part time. Scholarship is $1000.00 annually.
Stanley W Cole Scholarship: Due Wed 04/06/17) This scholarship was established in 1999 to honor of Mr Stanley W Cole who served as a teacher and a counselor at VCHS. The high school staff and Mr Cole will interview the finalists and selects one student to receive a $500 scholarship.
DeBie Future Elementary Teacher Scholarship: Due Wed 04/19/17:This scholarship will be awarded annually in memory of Catherine De Bie who was a teacher herself and whose son Harold taught at Valley Chrisitan for 40 years. The scholarship will be credited toward the students junior or senior year tuition at VCHS. One $500 scholarship is awarded towards tuition for a returning sophomore or junior whose goal is to be an elementary school teacher someday.
Koopman Scholarship Due Wed 04/19/17:This scholarship has been in place for over 20 years and is funded and awarded by the Koopman Family. Students are asked to write an essay, which is then reviewed by staff members. HS staff members and a Koopman family representative then interview finalists. The scholarship amount is $1000.00

Karl Kalma Scholarship due Wed 04/19/17: One $1000 scholarship towards college tuition will be awarded annually in memory of Karl Kalma. Class of 1970 and former school board member, to one student who exhibits admirable qualities displayed by Karl: Christ follower, strong work ethic, dependable, trustworthy, involved, service oriented, team player, missions minded, overcomes obstacles, and physically active.
The Kok Calvin College Scholarship due Wed 04/19/17: Both Reverend Kok and his wife, Mrs Ada Timmer Kok, graduated from Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Nine of their ten children attended Calvin College Their combined love for Calvin and their long history with Bellflower Christian Schools /Valley Christian High School have motivated the establishment of this scholarship fund. The Kok family selects the recipient of the $2000.00 scholarship toward Calvin College.
The Holly Hustedt Fashion Design & Merchandising Scholarship Due Wed 04/19/17: One $1000 scholarship awarded towards tuition for a senior who will major in fashion, design, or merchandising in college. This scholarship will be awarded annually in memory of Holly Hustedt who majored in Fashion & Design.
Bellflower Rotary Scholarship 2017: The Bellflower Rotary Foundation Scholarship 2017 is pleased to announce that up to 6 scholarships of $1000.00 each will be awarded to deserving students graduating from high school this year. Completed applications are due or must be postmarked by May 11, 2017. This is a 500 word of less essay. Please pick up a copy of the instructions on this essay in the SSB Building, scholarship area.

Ayn Rnd Institute Essay Contest 2017: 2017 Ayn Rand Essay Contest is available for students of all nationalities who are enrolled in 8th, 9th or 10th grade. The essays witht the top scores from each region will determine the winners and finalists. Lakewood Ambassador Scholarship: The Lakewood Pan American Association will present educational scholarships in various amounts between $500.00 and $1500.00 to Lakewood resident students of high caliber, both in character and academics, who have a strong desire to further their education.The student's enrollment at any accredited college, university or trade school will be acceptable qualification. The Scholarship is open to senior students who reside in Lakewood and attend any public or private school. Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Incorporated Chapter 2017 Scholarship: Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc is an organization of college-educated women committed to constructive development of its members and to public service with a primary focus on the Black community. The sorority was founded on the campus of Howard University in 1913 by 22 visionary young women. The organization has grown to include more than 1000 hapters throughout the United States, the Caribbean, parts of Europe, Japan, the Repulic of South Korea and Okinawa. Deadine is March 10, 2017. Cerritos Optimist Club Oratorial Contest: The Cerritos Optimist Club is having a speech/oratorical contest of February 23, and March 2,2017. The contest is open to all students under the age of 19 as of 12-31-2016. The student must not have reached his/her 18th birthday before 10-01-2016. The topic is "What the World gains from Optimism". They are awarding scholarships for the winners ($500 for 1st, $300 for 2nd , and $200 for 3rd.) The girls contest will be held on Feb 23, 2017 aat 6pm and the Boys will be held on March 2, 2017 . 2016-17 NHS Scholarship Application Program: The appliation process for the NHS Scholarship program is administered online by International Scholarship and Tuition Services (ISTS). The deadline to complete and submit the student portion of the application form is February 1,2017. The deadline to submit recommendations and certifications is February 10,2017.
