There will be games, food, fun and fellowship. Join us after school until 7:00 PM. See the Harvest Festival webpage for details. Raffles will happen throughout the event, each family name will be placed in the raffle. Visitors may register at the Information Booth to join in on the fun. Admissions News: A few spaces remain available for new students at a few grade levels. We are glad to welcome prospective families to visit for these grade: Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, 5th, 7th and 8th grade. The Band and Orchestra Parent Association invites you to attend their next meeting on Monday, 10/2 at 7:30 PM in the Verhoeven College and Career Center. Grandparents Day is this Friday, 9/22 at 10:00 AM! All grandparents, adopted grandparents, or special friends are invited to join us for a program put on by the preschool children with treats on the playground to follow.Thank you to all parents who signed up to bring items for Grandparents Day! Please have all items at the preschool by Thursday, 9/21. Fruit and Donuts may be dropped off the morning of the event. Parents who have volunteered their time please be at the preschool campus as follows, set up 9:00 AM, food prep 9:30 AM, food servers 10:15 AM, and clean up 10:45 AM.Two Preschool Parent Association Reps are needed! Grandparents Day is this Friday, 9/22 at 1:30 PM. Invite your grandparents or adopted grandparents to arrive at 1:30 PM to enjoy some ice cream and fun activities with their grandchildren, attend the Harvest Festival at VCHS beginning at 3:00 pm, and end the day with a lot of cheering at the VCHS football game.Harvest Festival Bus Pass Permission Forms and information can be found here.Math Circle starts on Tuesday, 9/19 at 3:00 PM. The Compton Initiative is a non-profit organization founded in 2006 with a 40-year commitment to restore the City of Compton by painting and gardening at homes, schools, businesses and churches on quarterly workdays. MAPS testing will be tomorrow, 9/19 and Thursday, 9/21 during an extended advisement period at the beginning of the school day. Please make sure your student gets a good night's rest, eats breakfast and arrives to school on time for both of those days. Help the VCHS students raise money for the band and orchestra!VCHS will host Homecoming on Friday, 10/6 at 6:30 PM - Homecoming Ambassadors presentation: 7:30 pm - Varsity football game.Parent Service Hours Opportunity: We are looking for 6 parent chaperones to be on campus and in the parking lot during the Homecoming Dance on 10/6. Testing for 9th - 11th graderson Wednesday, 10/11 from 8:15 - 11:30 AM. (No testing for seniors) Please avoid scheduling appointments this day and make sure that your students get plenty of rest and have a good breakfast.
Wednesday, 10/11 there is no school for seniors. This can be an excellent day to work on college applications or visit a local college.Driver’s Education classes will be at VCHS in October. - Students are dismissed around 11:30 am, and there is no lunch service
- High School students are not permitted to visit other VCS campuses until after 2:45 PM
- The Library will be open for students to study while they wait for the bus. Buses will run their regular routes at 2:45 PM

They are looking to restock their uniform room to help families who need them.Affordable Treasures Thrift Store needs volunteers and are accepting high school students as well as parents! Service hours are available. - Scrip “live” sales are held each Tuesday and Thursday from 8-9:30 AM at the Middle School campus. Your student may drop off your Scrip orders at the Preschool, Elementary, Middle School, or Business Office every Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. All drop off orders received by 9 am will be processed and returned to the campus for your students to bring home that same day.
- All Ralphs Club Cards must be registered once again to VCS to continue earning funds for our school. Please go to www.ralphs.com to register your card for this new year.
- Spread the news about the Scrip program to new families at VCS as well as your own friends and family. The more families that are involved, the more funds are raised for tuition rebates and the needs of VCS.
