- Wristband pre-sale happening Wednesday 9/8, Thursday 9/9 in front of the elementary school office from 7:50 AM – 8:30 AM. $30 check/cash. Avoid waiting in line to purchase day of Harvest Festival.

Harvest Festival Candy Donations - Freshman, Sophomore, Junior and Senior Classes all are in need of candy donations to run their booths at Harvest Festival. Any size, any kind, all amounts are welcome. Please label the candy if you are donating to a specific grade level otherwise it will be divided up between all grades. Drop off at high school office by Thursday at 3:00 PM.
New Parent Welcome Dinner is Tuesday, 9/14 at 6:00 PM. Deadline to RSVP is today, 9/7. If you are new to Valley Christian Schools for the 21-22 school year, please plan to attend our New Parent Welcome Dinner on the Valley Christian High School campus. This event is for parents only. - Full-Time Custodian - Job Description: VCS is looking for a full-time custodian. The custodian will be responsible for the overall cleanliness and general maintenance of assigned buildings, floors, equipment, grounds, and facilities.
- Substitute Teacher- Elementary School Temporary - Job Description: VCS is looking for substitute teachers.

Due to Covid Protocols for the 2021-22 school year, Valley Christian elementary is having Chapel outdoors. We are in need of buying 2 large tents/shade cover for a total cost of $3,500. If you would like to donate towards the cost of a tent please contact Troy Stahl, Superintendent, at tstahl@vcschools.org. Thank you for your support!
We need your help! Valley Christian Schools has been blessed by an increase in enrollment for the 2021-2022 school year. This increase means we need more picnic tables for lunch at the Elementary and High School campuses. If you would like to donate towards the cost of a table please contact Troy Stahl, Superintendent, at tstahl@vcschools.org. Each table costs between $700-$1000. We are hoping to add a total of 10 tables. Thank you for your support!
Parent Service Hours Opportunities:
- New Parent Dinner: We are looking for help with setting up and/or taking down the New Parent Dinner on Tuesday, 9/14. Please contact Leann Bakker at 562-860-0556 or at info@vcschools.org for more details.
- SAS Popcorn Cart: We are looking for parent volunteers to run the SAS popcorn cart on Friday nights during our home football games. It’s a great way to have fun and meet people while enjoying Friday Night Lights at Valley. The proceeds fund our Scholastic Arts Scholarships for our senior students. - HS Football Games Canteen: A fun way to get those service hours is to help out in the canteen during football season. Working in the canteen not only supports our football team but Valley Athletic Boosters, which supports all sports programs at Valley Christian. New Parent Welcome Dinner: RSVP Deadline is today 9/7. Please check your email and RSVP for the New Parent Welcome Dinner. This event is scheduled for Tuesday, 9/14 at 6:00 PM at our high school campus. Get to know a little bit more about Valley Christian School community.
Celebrating Grandparents: Grandparents are welcome to drop off or pick up their grandchild from preschool on Thursday, 9/9 or Friday, 9/10 (We will have a special treat for them). We will also be mailing out a special card for them this week. If you have not submitted their address, please do so asap!
Child's File: Please remember to check your child's file daily for important papers, daily work, and art projects.
VCPS will host a chapel service each week on Wednesday morning from 9:00 - 9:30 AM. We are excited to have started our new GO! curriculum featuring Bible stories, classroom connection, and home activities. During chapel time we will also teach the children about giving and take a special collection that will be used at Christmas time to purchase items for Eucalyptus Christmas through the Encounter Church.
Picture Day: will be on Tuesday, 9/14 and Wednesday, 9/15. Each child received a paper in their file indicating which day they will take pictures. If you are unsure of the date your child will take a picture, please see their teacher.
Signing In/Out: Please remember to sign your child in each morning at drop off and out again each afternoon at pick-up!
VCES Student Absences: If your child is going to be absent from school, please notify the elementary office by 9:00 AM at VCESOffice@vcschools.org. Thank you.
Harvest Festival Student Bus Pass information forms were sent home with your child last Friday. A copy of this form can be found here.
5th/6th Grade Coaches Needed! - We are looking for a few girls’ basketball and boys’ flag football coaches for the upcoming season. This is a paid position and requires a commitment of up to three (3) days a week, Monday-Thursday, from 3:00-4:30 PM from mid-September through mid-November. Fundraiser Chair - We are in need of a volunteer to head up our fall fundraiser for magazine and cookie dough sales. If you are interested or need more information, please call the school office at 562-920-9902.
VCES Grandparents Day - Friday, 9/10, 1:30-2:30 PM. Join us for a fun afternoon outdoors with your grandkid(s). Play games, do crafts, take photos together and top it off with ice cream! A family friend or relative can also join us!
MAPS Testing for students in grades K-6th will continue until 9/17. Testing will be at various times throughout the day depending on the classroom schedule. Please make sure your student gets a good night's rest, eats breakfast, and arrives at school on time.
Staff/Bus Parking Lot: Parking is very limited in the staff/bus parking lot. Please park on the street if possible, except on Tuesdays, which are street sweeping days.
Parents, please remember that masks are required for students while indoors on campus unless you have filed a waiver in the front office. Disciplinary action will be taken for students without mask waivers who do not wear their masks indoors. Please be sure to send your child to school with masks from home as our campus supply is limited.
VC Schools Harvest Festival is this Friday, 9/10 on the VCHS Campus 3:00 - 7:00 PM.
The Middle School Parent Association representatives will be hosting a BBQ Pulled Pork Dinner at the Harvest Festival. Donations and volunteers are needed in order to make this event a success! If you are interested in serving or donating to this event click here.

Virtual Senior Parent Meeting will be tonight, Tuesday, 9/7 at 7:00 PM. Please join Mrs. Garcia and Mrs. Ormsbee for a Virtual Senior Parent Night via Zoom (the Zoom link was emailed to you). Hear how you can support your senior student through the college application process. The presentation will also be recorded and emailed to all parents.
It's time to start thinking about traveling abroad again! The VCHS Europe trip that was postponed in 2020 because of the pandemic has been rescheduled for the summer of 2022. We’ll be touring Germany, Switzerland, Czech Republic and the Netherlands. Come to a parent meeting on Tuesday, 9/7 at 6:30 PM in Room C31 to hear more about this amazing educational opportunity. There are scholarships and payment plans that could work for you. Intro Meeting for Students and Parents New to High School Robotics will be tonight, Tuesday 9/7 at 7:00 PM. All students and parents who are interested in learning about the high school robotics program are invited to attend an introductory meeting on Tuesday Sept 7th at 7:00 PM. This meeting is designed for parents and students that are new to the program and is not required for veteran parents, but anyone who has questions is welcome to attend. Registration is now open for Robotics Fall Season. Fall season kick-off is Saturday, 9/11 from 9:30 AM-3:00 PM so sign up soon! Please go to http://go.vcschools.org/techcamps to register and pay. The fee for the fall season is $300. Meeting times are Tuesdays 6:30-9:00 PM and Saturdays 9:30 AM-3:00 PM Meetings will run through 11/12!

ATTENTION SENIORS! Ever wonder about the midwest or what it would be like to go to college there? RaNelle Ver Velde is planning a trip to visit Northwestern College in Orange City, Iowa AND Dordt University in Sioux Center. We will be leaving on Wednesday, October 27. We will visit Northwestern on the 28th and Dordt on the 29th. You will be staying in dorms on BOTH campuses. We will then fly home on the 30th. If this is something you are interested in, please email RaNelle at rvervelde@vcschools.org soon to get signed up!
Senior parents - All seniors are asked to have a Senior Portrait taken at Classic Image, our school photographer, to be put in the yearbook. If you were not able to schedule your Senior Portrait appointment during the summer, please do so as soon as possible by calling 562-865-3636. There will be a $40 sitting fee and an option to buy more prints. Senior portraits will need to be taken by the end of September or the ID card photo will be used in the yearbook instead.
