Broadway Showcase Lost and Found - All lost items collected in the High School Legacy Chapel and from the theater are waiting for their owners to find them in the high school office building. Stop by the high school office any day this week (7:45 AM-3:30 PM) if you are looking for a missing item. There are shoes, umbrellas, glasses, LOTS of water bottles, and LOTS of clothes. During Spring Break, any remaining items will be brought to Affordable Treasures.
All VC Broadway Showcase owned costumes needed to be returned last week. Please return costumes in a bag with the students' name on it and labeled BWSC to any VC school office.
Parents - please check in your PowerSchool parent portal to make sure you have completed your parent service hour requirements for the year. If something needs to be completed or turned in before the end of the year, this is the time to finish those hours. Questions - servicehours@vcschools.org

VCHS is seeking a P/T Coffee Bar Coordinator (12-15 hours per week/$16-18 per hour) for the 2023-24 school year to perform day-to-day operations of the VCS Learning Commons Coffee Bar, including taking orders, preparing drinks, serving, and supervising student workers. Interested in hosting an International Student next school year? Valley Christian has international students from China, Germany, Austria, South Korea needing a family to live with next year. Spring Break: Preschool will be open 3/27-3/31 for children who signed up to attend during Spring break. Preschool hours of operation will be from 7:30 AM - 5:30 PM.
Looking to Summer: VCPS will be hosting an 8-week summer program from June 5-July 28 (closed June 19, July 4&5) on our elementary campus. There is still time to sign up! Please do so ASAP as spots are limited. We have planned an exciting summer filled with lots of fun! We will have water-play days, special lunches, on-site field trips, fun snacks, chapel, fitness for all, Webby Dance, and so much more. There is a $30.00 registration fee that will be added to your June tuition payment (tuition rates remain the same as school 22/23 school year).
Trike-A-Thon: Friday, 3/24 - Preschoolers will have a fun morning of riding bikes, eating a healthy snack, and learning about different forms of transportation. This will be our third fundraiser of the school year, which will allow us to purchase a new bike for the playground, an outdoor cubby, and some fun table toys to bring learning outside. Each class will have a special time to ride their trikes! Riding times are as follows:

- Ms. Crystal's class: 9:30-9:50 AM
- Ms. Tricia's class: 10:00-10:20 AM
- Ms. Jamie's class: 10:30-10:50 AM

- Families are welcome to join us during their child's riding time to take pictures and encourage their child as they trike around the parking lot. Sign ups for parent volunteers will be emailed around 3/15.

Spring Enrichment Classes: Classes will be held for five THURSDAYS - 3:00-4:00 PM, 4/4 - 5/2. Forms were sent home with your child last week. The Sweet Treats, Little Adventurers Club and Feelin' Crafty classes are full. Space is limited in the remaining classes. Registration forms may be found here.
Discover the World of Mission to Mars! A Valley Christian after-school science club for grades K-5th. Class will be on Wednesdays and Thursdays - 3:00-4:00 PM. Information and registration can be found here.
Walk Through The Revolution for 5th grade students will be held on Wednesday, 3/22.
Sports Spirit Day, Friday, 3/24! Show your school spirit by wearing your best athletic attire or show off your favorite team! Spirit Day is optional. If you do not wish to participate, please be in uniform.
Kindergarten Orientation, Monday, 4/3 at 6:30 PM: This meeting is for parents of students who will start kindergarten in August 2023. You'll meet the kindergarten teaching team as well as learn about important details, including "A Day in The Life of a Kindergartener" and kindergarten assessment.
3rd grade students will be going to the Discovery Cube on 4/4.
4th grade students will be going to the International Printing Museum in Carson on 4/4.
Webby Dance Company! Valley Christian After School Dance Class for grades TK-4th. Classes will be held on Thursdays, 3:00-3:45 PM, beginning 4/6 for 7 weeks. Registration and more information can be found here.
Class Color Spirit Day Thursday, 4/6! Show your class spirit at the Trot for Technology by wearing the following colors by grade level: 6th-Black, 5th-Orange, 4th-Yellow, 3rd-Green, 2nd-Blue, 1st-Purple and TK/K-Red. Spirit Day is optional. If you do not wish to participate, please be in uniform.

Mother-Son Cornhole Tournament and Dinner - The Mission Alaska team will be hosting a fundraiser for elementary school students on Friday, 4/14 - 4:00-6:00 PM at the high school. We will be sponsoring a cornhole tournament and a BBQ hot dog meal afterwards. Cost for the tournament and dinner is $30. Additional family members are also invited to come watch and purchase dinner. 6th Grade Science Camp - April 19-21
Father-Daughter Dance - The Mission Alaska team will be hosting a fundraiser for the elementary school students on Friday, 4/21 from 6:00 - 8:00 PM in the High School Legacy Chapel. This year's theme is "Ties and Tiaras". Cost for the dance and desserts is $40. Flyers will be sent home this week at the elementary school. If you have questions, contact aandersen@vcschools.org.
Summer Day Camp - Adventure Crew 2023: Register early for Summer Day Camp (Kindergarten - 8th grade). After May 22nd, the registration fee will increase to $75.00. Want to celebrate your child’s birthday with the high school Madrigals Choir?! Fill out the attached order form along with $20 and return it to the elementary school office to place a birthday gram order and have The Madrigals sing happy birthday to your student. Birthday grams also include a sweet treat and a goodie bag! Birthday grams will be delivered once a month to the elementary school campus. Please support the Madrigals and help them get to Orlando this spring!
Pop Tabs: We are partnering with The Ronald McDonald House to help families in their time of need by collecting Pop Tabs. Students may bring in their pop tabs at any time.
LOST AND FOUND - Anything left in Lost and Found will be donated to Affordable Treasures 3/31. Please have your child check for any missing items. We have lots of jackets and other clothing items in our Lost and Found.

Parent Service Hours Opportunity! We are quickly approaching the end of the year, which means that it is time to begin planning for the 8th Grade Dance Party. If you would like to be a part of the planning committee, there will be a meeting on Tuesday, March 21st at 7:00 PM, in the College and Career Center on the high school campus. The VCHS Defenders Dance Team has two exciting events coming up! On Thursday, 4/6 at 7:00 PM in the VCHS gym, we are having our 3rd annual dance team showcase (featuring VCHS Varsity Cheer). Come out and watch as our dancers perform some of their favorite routines from this past season. Also, on Saturday 4/15 from 1:00-4:00 PM in the VCHS dance room, we will be holding tryouts for our upcoming 2023-2024 season. SAS Meeting - tonight, Monday, 3/20, 7:00 PM - The Scholastic Arts Society (SAS) invites you to attend their monthly meeting. This group is the support organization for the VCHS National Honors Society. The meeting will be held in the Verhoeven College and Career Center, located in the high school office building.
SAS Fundraiser - Friday, 3/24 - The Scholastic Arts Society, a parent organization that provides financial support for the VCHS National Honors Society, will be hosting a PJ Bottoms Day on Friday, 3/24. Wristbands can be purchased the morning of for $3 each. Students will be allowed to wear PJ bottoms with uniform tops - and remember, Fridays are Valley t-shirt days! Come dressed in your comfiest VC t-shirt and pajama bottoms to enjoy the last day before Spring Break!
Scholarships for Seniors - Many scholarships are offered to our graduating seniors by support organizations, VC alumni, and generous VC supporters and donors. Parents, please remind your seniors that the deadline to submit scholarship applications is Friday, 3/24. Scholarships are listed on Canvas and applications should be submitted on Canvas.Contact hsinfo@vcschools.org if you have any questions about these scholarships.

JUNIOR-SENIOR BANQUET this year's Junior Class Student Council will be hosting the "Enchanted Fairytale JSB" on Friday, April 28 from 6:30 - 11:30 PM at Disney's Grand Californian Hotel in Anaheim. Tickets will be on sale Tuesday - Friday, April 11-14 in the high school office. Tickets will be sold to seniors only on Tuesday and Wednesday so they can pick their dinner table. Thursday and Friday ticket sales will be open to juniors and seniors. The tickets that include dinner and dancing are $120 for VCHS students and $130 for outside guests. All attendees will need to turn in the Code of Conduct form as well as outside guests have the Guest Form completed when they purchase their tickets. Outside guests must be at least in 11th grade and under the age of 21.
