Tonight is the last chance to avoid the lines at the theatre and purchase your PRE-SALE Broadway Grams at the high school dress rehearsal from 5-8:30 p.m. Come see us at the tables between the HH and B buildings. After tonight you will be able to purchase at the theatre, but we have to give them 20% of our sales. Thank you for supporting our Madrigal advanced choir  program. We are selling candy leis, stuffed puppy and teddy bears, as well as three different flower arrangements to meet every budget.

If you missed out on ordering a Broadway sweatshirt, we have a few adult and kids sizes available to purchase tonight as well. If you missed the pre-order, you can purchase one. Come see us at the table next to the Broadway Grams.

New this year! Glammed and Sweet Mini Pancake Fundraiser today, Monday, March 9th from 3:30 – 6:00 PM outside the Legacy Chapel. The cost is $12 for mini-pancake stack (with toppings!) and $15 for the Dubai Chocolate. All are welcome!

Broadway Showcase Cast Party! Flyers are being handed out. RSVP is due Wednesday, March 11 to one of the Wojos—Megan, Micah, Jeff or Dawn.

Mark your calendars for March 20th, 6:30-8:30 PM and join us on the HS campus for our annual Father-Daughter Dance. This year’s theme is Once Upon a Time, so dads come dressed to impress and get ready for a magical evening filled with music, dancing, and memories fit for a fairy tale. The event will take place at the Legacy Chapel on the high school campus. Sign-up flyers will be sent home within the next week. Don't miss out! This dance is open to all VCPS and VCES students! (This is a service leadership fundraiser)

See's Candies Fundraiser: Preschool will be selling See's Candies for the Easter Holiday. Order forms were sent home on Friday, 2/27 and need to be returned to preschool by Thursday, 3/19 at 10:00 AM. 

Reminder: Preschool will be CLOSED this Friday, March 13 for Teachers-In-Service Training

Easter/Spring Break Sign Ups: Preschool will be open for Easter/Spring Break from Monday, March 30-Thursday, April 2. If you plan for your child to attend, you must fill out the Google form that was emailed to you last week. This allows us to schedule staff accordingly and plan fun activities. Last day to fill out the form will be Friday, 3/13.

Graduation photos for children moving on to TK or Kindergarten will be Thursday 3/19. Children who do NOT attend this day may stop by between 9:00-10:00 AM to take their picture. The children can come dressed in their "Sunday best", and will wear a maroon cap with a gold tassel (picture 1), and maroon gown with cap and gold tassel (picture 2). 

Chapel Offerings: We are marching through March as we partner with 1st Artesia CRC and SOLES4SOULS by collecting gently-used shoes and purchasing new shoes (from chapel offerings) for families in need.

Staff Appreciation Week is March 23–27! This year’s theme is “Our Staff Is Popular.” We’re transforming the Lounge into the Emerald City and planning a week filled with loads of food, tasty treats, and a few special surprises. CLICK HERE to check out the Sign Up Genius and see how you can help (service hour opportunities available). Student Lunch Orders: Just a quick reminder that lunch orders through GPSPay.net can be placed until 9:00 PM the night before. We hope this helps as there are only a limited number of emergency lunches available each day.

Spring Enrichment Classes: Classes will be held on TUESDAYS - 3:00-4:00 PM, for five weeks, 3/17 - 4/21. Classes offered are Crafts, Dance/Fitness, Knitting, Wiffle Ball, and Handbells/  Classes do fill up quickly.  Information and registration form can be found here.

Coding Class: Do you want your child to learn how to code? Come check out the beginner courses for newbie coders and experienced coders. Classes will be held on Thursdays, 3:00-4:00 PM, 3/12-4/16 at VCES. Spirit Day - St. Parick's Day March 17! Let's go Green!  Dress in your favorite green attire.  This is optional, if you do not wish to participate, please be in uniform.

Walk Through the Revolution for 5th grade students will be held on Wednesday, March 18.

Trot for Technology will be held on Friday, March 27, 8:15 - 11:45 AM - Each year we host a jog-a-thon fundraiser to raise money for elementary school technology. Be part of this exciting challenge and help VCES students raise $40,000.00 to fund classroom technology. Parents may help students seek pledges from family members, friends, neighbors, co-workers, etc. Donations may be made for a predetermined dollar amount or per lap with students. Donations may also be made online. Information and pledge envelopes will be sent home with students. Please join us for our annual Trot-for-Technology on Friday, March 27! Volunteers needed! Class Color Spirit Day Friday, March 27! Show your Class Spirit at the Trot for Technology by wearing the following colors by grade level: 6th-Black, 5th-Orange, 4th-Yellow, 3rd-Green, 2nd-Blue, 1st-Purple and TK/K-Red. Spirit Day is optional. If you do not wish to participate, please be in uniform.

 

SPRING BREAK DAYCARE - Monday, March 30 – Thursday, April 2 - 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM. – PLEASE CLICK THE LINK & REGISTER ASAP   Our daycare will be open for Spring Break: Minimum of 15 students required for us to open. Registration Deadline is Friday, March 20th. You will be notified once the minimum has been met. We must plan staffing, activities, and supplies in advance. Let’s make this a fun and well-prepared week for the kids!  Thank you for registering promptly and helping us plan ahead.

Please help us ensure students are dressed warmly and in compliance with our VCS dress code:

  • Outerwear: If clothing goes over the head, it must be a VCS uniform item.
  • Zip-Up Jackets: If it zips up, VCS gear is highly recommended but not required.
  • Label Everything: PLEASE LABEL ALL OUTERWEAR WITH YOUR CHILD’S FIRST & LAST NAME.
  • Leggings/Jeggings: Leggings or jeggings are not permitted unless worn under a VCS uniform skirt or uniform shorts.

  • Thank you for helping us maintain a consistent and polished appearance on campus!

Lost and Found - Please have your child check the Lost and Found for any items they may be missing. Any items leftover at the end of the month will be donated to the VCS Pep Squad for their used uniform sale.

Pop Tabs: We are partnering with The Ronald McDonald House to help families in their time of need by collecting Pop Tabs. Students may bring in their pop tabs at any time.

Middle School

LATE START - We will have a late start day on Thursday, March 12. Classes will begin at 9 AM. Morning buses will run at their usual times. Students arriving early will be supervised at the lunch tables or the Library/Commons room.

VCMS Spring Athletics Is Coming! VCMS Spring Athletics will be offering the following sports this season: Boys and Girls soccer, Boys baseball, Boys Volleyball and Girls Flag Football.  Students who were interested attended informational meetings during school. We are excited for a great spring season!

There will be no school for students this Friday, March 13th for a Teacher In-service Day.

VCHS Pep Squad 2026–2027 season tryouts are almost here!  

  • Song tryouts will be held on Saturday, April 11th at VCHS. The day will begin with a dance clinic from 9:00 –10:45 AM, followed by a 15-minute break, and auditions will take place from 11:00–11:30 AM.

  • Cheer tryouts will be held April 13th–15th at VCHS from 3:30–5:00 PM each day.

8th Grade Dance Planning Meeting - The meeting is Monday, 3/23, 7:00 PM in the high school library.

Senior Parents: Encourage your student to check out the scholarships that are posted in the High School Student Course in Canvas - these are scholarships sponsored by generous VC donors and supporters. All scholarship applications are due on Friday, March 27 (the last day before Spring Break) and should be submitted on Canvas. Check out the scholarships for athletes; students going into trades, music, visual arts, or elementary education; students attending certain Christian colleges; students highly committed to service; and students who are part of National Honor Society. A summary of the scholarships is available for parents to review is available in the parent portal on the school website.
 
SENIOR ANNOUNCEMENTS! Attention SENIOR PARENTS! Two VERY IMPORTANT events have ticket sales coming soon!
  • Tickets to the Senior Trip to Catalina Island will be on sale March 9-13, with the trip taking place on April 22nd. The tickets are $85 per person, which covers the transportation (boat and bus transportation). The form will also have links to a variety of activity vendors for students who want to arrange that. Please check their websites carefully for reservation requirements, age limits, and liability release policies.
  • Tickets to JSB (Junior Senior Banquet) will be on sale March 19-27 for $130 per person. JSB takes place on April 24th. More details about the location and theme are coming soon!

Spirit Store Open - The Spirit Store will be open TONIGHT (Monday, March 2) from 6:30-8:30 PM. The Spirit Store sells VC t-shirts, sweatshirts, jackets, hats, and socks. Elementary School

 

Congratulations to all the students who participated in the Fine Arts Festival last week. Great job! Thank you to all the music teachers, BOPA, and volunteers for making this day a great experience for our students.

1st and 2nd Grade Musical - Tuesday, March 3 at 7:00 PM - Join us for our 1st and 2nd grade musical “A Very Patriotic Pageant” as our students celebrate America with songs full of red, white, and blue spirit! The musical will be held at BellOne Christian Reformed Church, located at 17603 Ardmore Ave, Bellflower, CA 90706.  Come support our young performers and enjoy an evening of heartwarming fun for the whole family. 

5th and 6th Grade Concert: You're invited to a Spring Concert featuring all of our 5th and 6th Graders on Thursday, March 5th at 1:00pm at Bethany Christian Reformed Church located at 17054 Bixby Ave., Bellflower 90706.  Elementary bands, orchestras and choir will be performing.  Families and friends are encouraged to attend.  Students will bus to and from the concert.  Students should please wear their maroon polos to school that day.  Please reach out to your son or daughter's music teacher if you have any questions.

Trot for Technology will be held on Friday, March 27, 8:15 - 11:45 AM - Each year we host a jog-a-thon fundraiser to raise money for elementary school technology. Be part of this exciting challenge and help VCES students raise $40,000.00 to fund classroom technology. 8th Grade Parents - VCHS Registration Night is TONIGHT! (Monday, March 2) This is a night for students and parents to attend, learn more about life at the high school, and receive instructions for completing the Class Registration Form.   • Song tryouts will be held on Saturday, April 11th at VCHS. The day will begin with a dance clinic from 9:00 AM–10:45 AM, followed by a 15-minute break, and auditions will take place from 11:00–11:30 AM.
  • Cheer tryouts will be held April 13th–15th at VCHS from 3:30–5:00 PM each day.

Check out the scholarships for athletes; students going into trades, music, visual arts, or elementary education; students attending certain Christian colleges; students highly committed to service; and students who are part of National Honor Society. SENIOR ANNOUNCEMENTS! Attention SENIOR PARENTS! Two VERY IMPORTANT events have ticket sales coming soon!

  • Tickets to the Senior Trip to Catalina Island will be on sale March 9-13, with the trip taking place on April 22nd. The tickets are $85 per person, which covers the transportation (boat and bus transportation). The form will also have links to a variety of activity vendors for students who want to arrange that. Please check their websites carefully for reservation requirements, age limits, and liability release policies.
  • Tickets to JSB (Junior Senior Banquet) will be on sale March 19-27 for $130 per person. JSB takes place on April 24th. More details about the location and theme are coming soon!

Tickets for Broadway Showcase 2026 will be sold through the La Mirada Theatre Box Office and will go on sale beginning Tuesday, March 3rd at 11:00 AM. Tickets can be purchased via the La Mirada Theatre website, by phone, or in person at the theatre box office. Re-enrollment Deadline was Sunday, Feb 15th: This is a friendly reminder to complete the re-enrollment for the 2026-27 school year.  After February 15, there will be a late enrollment fee of $50.  To get started, log in to your new parent portal on Veracross. portals.veracross.com/vcschools. Once signed in, look for the green re-enrollment button. If you have trouble signing in, use the "Can't access your account?" link on the login page, or contact us at helpdesk@vcschools.org.

Results for the Fine Arts Festival are now posted. Results can be found on the parent portal in canvas. Login and select the elementary school then select 2026 Fine Arts Results. The Interscholastic Fine Arts Festival will be held Thursday, 2/26 throughout the school day at Crosspoint Church, 6950 Edison Ave., Chino. Parents of elementary students must provide transportation and supervision for this event. The Middle School Jazz Band will be performing in the Mayfair High School Jazz Band Festival in the STEAM building. Their performance time is Friday, February 27 at 6:00 PM. Great job musicians! All are welcome to attend and enjoy!

The Middle School Handbells will play in the church service at Bell One CRC (17603 Ardmore Ave) at 9:30 AM on Sunday, 3/1.  All are welcome.

Senior Parents: Encourage your student to check out the scholarships that are posted in the High School Student Course in Canvas - these are scholarships sponsored by generous VC donors and supporters. All scholarship applications are due on Friday, March 27 (the last day before Spring Break) and should be submitted on Canvas. Check out the scholarships for athletes; students going into trades, music, visual arts, or elementary education; students attending certain Christian colleges; students highly committed to service; and students who are part of National Honor Society. Students in Grades 5-8 are invited to participate in the upcoming Fine Arts Festival. Students may participate by playing their band/orchestra instrument, singing, or playing a piano solo. All tryout participants will perform at the VCES campus on 2/10, 3:00-5:00 PM. The best performances will represent VCS at the Interscholastic Fine Arts Festival, on 02/26, at CrossPoint Church in Chino. Students from other Southern California Christian schools will be participating as well. Students and parents can find out more from their music teacher.

Valentine's Day - Friday, 2/13, is a free dress day if you wear Red, Pink or Hearts. If students do not wish to participate, they should be in uniform.

Do you have a pass to Disneyland? The VCHS Handbells will perform on Monday, 2/23 at California Adventure. The group will play on the Hollywood Backlot Stage at 12:00 noon. We invite you to come! Congratulations to these students for making the audition!

Senior Parents - Jostens is the company that sells all things graduation! There are catalogs and ring sizers available to pick up in the high school office. These items are all optional for families. Things that your student needs (cap, gown, tassel) are all ordered by the school. 
 

Join us for the Cheer Team Prep Clinic on Saturday, 2/21, from 9:00–11:30 AM in the VCHS Legacy Chapel.  This clinic is open to all 8th–11th grade students who currently attend or plan to attend VCS. The focus will be on the skills and techniques needed to prepare for the Varsity Cheer Team. The clinic will take place from 9:00–11:00 AM, followed by a short informational meeting immediately afterward. If you are interested in participating, Please complete the google form so that we know to expect you. If you have any questions, feel free to email HSCheer@vcschools.org.

Students - We hope you'll join us for our mini college fair on Thursday, 2/19 during lunch in the quad with over 15 colleges and universities from out of state! Please register for a barcode before the event at www.StriveFair.com.  During the fair, representatives will scan your barcode to connect.

SAT at VCHS  - Juniors, sign up here for an opportunity to take the SAT on campus on Monday, April 6 at 8:30 AM.
